James Bros. Construction began with two brothers that enjoyed working outside. They started at the young ages of 17 and 16, by purchasing a skid loader to help them in cleaning their barn. They decided they needed to pay for this skid loader and started hiring themselves out to area farmers cleaning barns and backfilling tile ditches.

After high school Wayne worked for an area tiling company, while working on the side with the skid loader. Wayne decided in1979, to go into construction work full time. In 1980 the brothers purchased their own backhoe and gravel truck. Wayne’s wife Teri did the office work. They also bought gravel screeners to start screening their own materials. Steve worked for another construction company and helped Wayne nights and weekends until 1985, when he joined Wayne full time. Teri also started doing the office work full time from their home in 1985.

James Bros. has grown from backfilling tile ditches to installing septic systems, digging basements, doing site prep for commercial and residential, building driveways and roads. We have grown from two brothers working together to a staff of 20. We have the pleasure of having a family owned business that also has our sons working with us. We strive to do a good job the first time. We take pride in our work and it is important to us to have satisfied, return customers when the job is done.
